DIY heart - what more do you want?

There was something else, wasn't there? The perfect cabinet construction - not everyone can do that. However, the lack of time, a corresponding machine park or the craftsmanship skills should not deter you from tackling the construction for a third of the price of ready-made speakers.

The somewhat different finish - inexpensive & quick to implement

There is no question that one of my favorite finishes is the application of an aqua surface filler. The possible combinations are almost limitless in terms of colors and application methods. Which of the beautiful combinations you choose from the wealth of facets of the woods is up to you as a do-it-yourselfer.

For us, the time factor just hangs in the neck, but so completely without finish I did not want to leave the center. So I simply pre-painted the bevels on the baffle and the rest of the cabinet with a brush.

The baffle encourages experimentation. So I decided to go for the darker version.

If you're interested in how the driftwood look came about: a black alkyd resin varnish is used here, which is completely wiped off again in the lighter baffle variant. These varnishes have been around since ancient times. The dissolved resins they contain were used for embalming and mummification.

In Asia, they were used for traditional lacquer paintings and have lost none of their luminosity to this day. They have survived for hundreds of years. They are also frequently used as boat varnishes.

After a few hours, the filler is dry and the paint is applied.

It is easy to apply with the roller. When you are finished, the paint is removed directly with the cloth.

To do this, pull the rag evenly in one direction. The pressure of the hand decides how much you want to remove.

I myself do not follow a plan, but simply try something out.

If you are unsure about your own creative abilities, take a piece of MDF and test it out beforehand.

The shadow gap makes the filler show up very nicely. I like that and leave it like that.

The cabinet is built with an asymmetrical leaky partition.

Two small BR tubes keep control of the speaker drivers.Here, the larger volume is intended for the crossover, so that the remaining net volume in both chambers remains about the same.

The binding posts for the center should not be missing and are included with the rest of the materials used for construction.

For damping, note that half a mat of Sonofil with a hole for the bass reflex tube is placed in each compartment. It is not optimal to glue the damping to the walls, a loose arrangement leads to a more neutral playing.

For the bass reflex tube to work properly, it is important that it penetrates the insulation and is not covered by the insulation.

The final damping of the cabinet is done with two pieces of Bitumex. Here from half a plate comes to the ceiling and half to the bottom of each chamber.

The minimalist size is derived from the small Satorique Petit Rear 6 ( in progress ) and represents the minimum in which the driver still plays clearly in the midrange. The dimensions of the two volumes is chosen so that no disturbing resonances are formed in them. Due to the leaky connection in the area of the tweeter, a modal vibration behavior of the volumes is further reduced.

The arrangement of the drivers is taken from the Satorique 4 Center, so that its 0 degrees to 5 degrees upward sound field - which is an optimum for the normal case of placement under the screen - is also given in a mini center.

Of course, the built-up crossovers with their matched components for a ringdome variant and a beryllium variant are present in a Satorique kit.

What applies to the entire Satorique series also applies to the small Satorique Center13/BE. We build the crossovers for you. You will have to screw on the cables yourself.

The main Satorique speaker in the home theater system

Many customers are of the opinion that only the voices are displayed from a center. This is not correct, because the sounds that are played in the visible movie scene also reach our ears.

The quality of the development and the drivers play a special role here, which is completed in the baffle design of the center. It should also be remembered that not everyone has a cinema basement with a transparent screen and three Satorique MTM on a row. Therefore, a compromise is necessary when a flat screen is used in the living room at home.

Not-saving-on-the-wrong-place applies twice here, in terms of budget and installation location. After all, there are usually not as many speakers in the living room as in the home cinema basement.

Fine resolution, as already in the Satorique 4, it presents itself and can be combined without restriction with all speakers of this series.
